Find the cheapest prepaid plans for your need

Select what features you’re looking for and find the cheapest plans for you. These are all prepaid plans with no contract requirement. If not sure, you can leave any of the filters unchecked, or reset your selection by clicking the “clear filters” button.

  • By default plans with the most data within your price range are displayed first; you can always click the header to sort the plans by price, so the cheapest ones that meet your criteria are displayed first.
  • Some carriers promote “unlimited plans” that actually cap high speed (LTE 4G) data somewhere, after which speed will slow down. I think that’s a deceiving marketing gimmick. We only include “high speed data” here, not any “low speed data.” There are a few “truly unlimited” data plans from Simple Mobile, Visible and AT&T etc.
  • You may be able to get additional savings via cashback tools. I have listed in the details whether each plan is eligible for additional savings via Rakuten, the biggest online cashback platform, but you can check other cashback tools as well.

Cheapest prepaid phone plans

Cheapest prepaid plan overall

  • If you just want a phone service for occasional social need, but don’t need any data at all, Tello allows you to customize a plan of 100 minutes phone calls, with no data, that costs $3.8 a month for the first 6 months, and $5 a month thereafter. Tello runs on T-Mobile’s GSM-T network.
  • If you just want a tiny data plan for occasional use outside your Wifi zone, but don’t need any phone calls, Tello also allows you to customize a plan of 0.5 GB high speed data, with no phone calls, with the same price tag: $3.8 a month for the first 6 months, and $5 a month thereafter.

Cheapest plan with 4GB data

  • If you don’t need phone calls at all: 4GB data + 0 phone call at Tello costs $11.3 a month (for the first 6 months) or $15 a month (after the promotion period ends).
  • If you also need occasional phone calls: 4GB data + 100 minutes phone call at Tello costs a $12 a month (for the first 6 months) or $16 (after the promotion period ends).
  • If you also need unlimited phone calls: 4GB data + unlimited phone calls at Tello costs $14.3 a month (for the first 6 months) or $19 (after the promotion period ends).

Cheapest plan with 10GB data

  • Red Pocket has 10GB data + unlimited phone calls at $30 per month ($15 for the first month) on GSMA, GSMT or CDMA.
  • If you are fine with extended plans, Mint Mobile has 12 month plan of 10GB data per month + unlimited phone calls at $20 per month, or 6 month plan of 10GB data per month + unlimited phone calls at $25 per month. Mint Mobile runs on T-Mobile’s GSM-T network.

Cheapest for family (2/3/4/5 users)

  • For a family of 2 mobile users, Red Pocket has a monthly plan with 10GB data per line + unlimited phone calls at $50 ($25 per line), which can run on GSMA, GSMT or CDMA. They do charge a one time $10 set up fee.
  • For a family of 3 mobile users, Red Pocket has a monthly plan with 10GB data per line + unlimited phone calls at $70 ($23.33 per line), which can run on GSMA, GSMT or CDMA. They do charge a one time $20 set up fee.
  • For a family of 4 mobile users, Red Pocket has a monthly plan with 10GB data per line + unlimited phone calls at $90 ($22.5 per line), which can run on GSMA, GSMT or CDMA. They do charge a one time $30 set up fee. You can also pay slightly more, $95 a month ($23.75 per line), at Total Wireless, for a much more generous data plan of 25 GB per line (100GB data shared) + unlimited phone calls, that runs on Verizon’s CDMA network.
  • For a big family of 5 mobile users, Red Pocket has a monthly plan with 10GB data per line + unlimited phone calls at $110 ($22 per line), which can run on GSMA, GSMT or CDMA. They do charge a one time $40 set up fee.
  • Visible, a Verizon company, offers unlimited data & calls at $35 a month per line for 2 lines, or $30 per line for 3 lines, or $25 per line for 4 lines. If you have 4 lines for your family (or you can bring friends to join the “Party,” as Visible calls it), that’s about as good as you can get for unlimited plans.

Cheapest plan with 15GB data

  • Tello has a 25GB data monthly plan (10GB more data than you’re looking for) + unlimited phone calls at $39 a month, which costs the same as Ultra Mobile‘s 15GB + unlimited calls monthly plan. Ultra Mobile runs on T-Mobile’s GSM-T network.
  • If you’re fine with extended plans, Mint Mobile has 12 month plan of 15GB data per month + unlimited calls at $25 per month, or 6 month plan of 15GB data per month + unlimited calls at $35 per month.

Cheapest with “unlimited” high speed data

  • Visible has one plan, and one plan only, which is “unlimited data” + unlimited calls, at $40 per month ($25 first month; bring friends to get monthly $5 discount per friend, up to 3 friends), running on Verizon’s CDMA network, with hotspot, Wifi calling and 5G. A remarkable deal if you have need for a lot of data — it’s cheaper than many 50GB or 40GB plans out there. For the same price, you can only get a 5GB prepaid monthly plan from Verizon, or a 15GB prepaid monthly plan from AT&T.
  • The next best is from Simple Mobile, which offers two “unlimited” plans, one with 5GB hotspot, the other with 15GB hotspot; both include unlimited calls, Wifi calling and 5G, running on T-Mobile’s GSM-T network; priced at $50/$60 per month, all $47.50/$57 with auto refill. The $50 plan currently also has an introductory offer of $45 per month for the first 3 months.
