Unlike traditional alarm clocks, a wake-up light lamp is designed to wake you up and/or get you to sleep in a more natural way, using unique combination of light and sound that stimulates sunrise and/or sunset.

I’m very notorious for hitting the snooze button endlessly, but this helps me wake up without the need to do that! Also makes for a great bedside light with adjustable brightness.
2. Hatch Restore
Hatch Restore combines a smart light, sound machine, sunrise alarm, meditations, and an alarm clock all into one easy-to-use bedside device. It works together with the free Hatch Sleep app to help you personalize a science-backed sleep routine to help you fall asleep, stay asleep, and wake up gently.
On top of a rich sound library and 22 light colors, Hatch Restore makes it easy for you to personalize a bedtime and wake-up routine. It comes with default routine settings based on sleep science, or you can customize them to your liking. A Restore routine is your personal way to fall asleep, stay asleep, and wake up refreshed.
When you’re ready for bed, just tap the device to start your routine. A sunrise alarm gently wakes you up with light instead of sound. The Restore sunrise alarm mimics a natural dawn, moving from red to orange to white over 30 minutes before your chosen alarm sounds. This gradual exposure to light prompts your brain to release cortisol, the hormone that cues your body to wake naturally and more pleasant. Your routine is fully customizable from your Hatch Sleep app, so you can experiment with different settings for duration, sounds, and light colors.
The lighting and sound options are wonderful and it’s a great addition to my nighttime and morning routine. There is a yearly subscription if you want access to meditations and different sounds such as samples or classical.
3. JALL Wake Up Light
The sound of your choice will be played 30 minutes (you can change it to 20, or 10 minutes) before the target time you set, during which the light will also be turned on and brightens up from 10% brightness to 100%.
7 sounds to choose from: Birdsong, Ocean Wave, Streams, Beep, Wind bells, Soft Music, Piano Music.
The light comes with 7 colors (blue, indigo, purple, red, orange, yellow, green) and 20 levels of adjustable brightness. The LED display also has 3 levels of brightness.
Two alarms are supported. Press the “Snooze” button at the top of the clock, you will get 9 more mins to snooze, up to 5 times.
It’s also an FM radio with frequency from 76-108 MHz and a USB charger.
Works great — Instead of being jolted awake, I find myself transitioning out of sleep to being awake much smoother now. Very glad I bought this to counter my difficulty of waking up in the morning.
4. I-CODE Sun & Moon Rise Kids Alarm Clock
You can set both “sleep time” and “get up” clock (or just one of them): the sun icon and green light will tell your kids when it’s ok to get out of bed, and the moon icon will tell them it’s time for bed.
You can choose to set the alarm using both sound and light, or just lightening it up in a more pleasant way. Includes 17 sounds that mimic the natural environment, as well as 10 light colors.
It’s also a sleep sound machine; can play continuously or set a 15, 30, 60, 120 minute timer with its Auto Off function.
This sun/moon clock really helps with toddler sleep training. Ours gets really excited to see the moon before she goes to bed. She now knows that she needs to stay in bed until the sun comes out on the clock. We went from waking up at 4:30am to a much more reasonable 6:30am.
It’s great that there’s a lock to prevent little fingers from 「accidentally」 changing times. Both of my sons get excited about watching the sun change to the moon at bedtime.
5. Windflyer Toddler Alarm Clock
Multiple modes: Sleep, Play, Wake, Nap. It uses facial expression and different colors to teach your kiddo when it’s time to sleep or get out of bed, with traditional functions as a standard alarm, like 9 minute snooze time.
4 sleep sounds: music box, lullaby, ocean wave, white noise; 5 night light options: loop, red, blue, purple, yellow. Almost fully dimmable at night.
Built-in battery preserves memory settings. Child lock function prevents curious kids from accidentally change the clock settings.
What I LOVE most about this one is I don’t have to reset it every time the power goes out! I also love that you can turn the lights completely off and that you can lock the screen so little fingers that like pushing buttons can’t alter the settings.
